Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education and Social Studies
University of Malawi: Chancellor College
“If it is the time for education in your life, allow it to be the time for education.”
I chose a degree in Education and Social Studies because through social studies I will be able to interact with other peoples’ minds - their own society, culture and values. Through that interaction I will be able to identify others’ needs, weaknesses and strengths, and so I will be able to assist them psychologically, mentally, socially and materially, using the knowledge from the subjects I have learnt. This course has been everything I had hoped for, and if the possibility arises, I would like to pursue a Masters in education, and eventually become a teacher.
I am acquiring so much knowledge at university, which is allowing me to see a better future in my life in these coming years.
I would like to give advice to other young ladies who want to apply for Rare Scholarships. Honestly, I am advising them to work hard in their education and to avoid any factors which could hinder their studies. One major factor is boy—girl relationships, which can lead to girls dropping out of school due to early pregnancy. I myself used to avoid all factors which could affect my education negatively: I know that everything has its own time. If it is the time for education in your life, allow it to be the time for education.
